Fishing Expedition to Offshore Tommy Bank

The Tommy Bank is located about 30 miles north of Mauritius. It is the closest and most accessible bank for fishermen.

Deep-sea fishing differs from shore fishing, particularly in theses spots, catching a trophy fish is significantly higher. Ocean banks are sea mountains that naturally aggregate fish . This increases the chances for fishermen to have a active fishing Zone.

When fishing at the bank, we mostly do trolling for tuna wahoo, marlins and other pelagic species, depending on the sea state and the activities we can propose also jigging.

Departing the evening before the fishing day allows our guests to rest comfortably in the air-conditioned cabins of our boat and regain their strength on the way to the bank.

Our chef on board will make sure you will be well fed allowing you to refuel without being distracted from fishing. Dishes prepared with the fish caught by the guests will delight everyone with their authenticity and taste qualities.

Guests set out from Black River at 21:00 and return at the same time the following day.

In the evening, after departure, guests are offered snacks and Drinks a good sleep in our air-conditioning cabin will makes you ready for a early fishing start on bank.

Upon request, we can set off from the north (Grand Bay). Guests board the boat at 01:00 beging our journey to the Bank.

The journey from Grand Rivière Noire to the Bank takes 7 hours (from Grand Bay 3h30). During this time (at night), guests are accommodated in comfortable air-conditioned cabins (for more information about our boat, please see the description on our website).

We arrive at the Bank at 04:30 and fish until 16:00.

At 16:00 the boat heads back to Mauritius.

Arrival at Black River is approximately at 23:00. At guest request, the tour can end in Grand Bay at 20:00.
